Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up at 07:00, followed by a scenic drive to the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m). Along the way, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding valleys and charming Berber villages nestled on the hillsides. This winding route offers breathtaking landscapes, and you’ll have several photo stops to capture the scenery. Next, you’ll arrive at the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, an ancient, fortified village that has featured in numerous Hollywood blockbusters.

After exploring the site at your own pace, the journey continues to Ouarzazate, often referred to as the “Gateway to the Sahara.” From there, drive along the Valley of Roses and the Road of 1000 Kasbahs, taking in even more stunning scenery, before reaching Dades Valley in the evening. You’ll spend the night in a comfortable hotel or guesthouse nestled within the canyon landscape.

After breakfast, the journey continues deeper into the mountains with a drive through the Dades Valley and into the breathtaking Todra Gorges, where 300-meter-high cliffs create a natural wonder perfect for a short walk or photo opportunities. Around midday, you’ll pass through Erfoud, known for its date market and fossils, before heading toward Merzouga. Upon arrival at the edge of the golden Erg Chebbi dunes, you’ll mount a camel for a sunset trek across the sand to your desert camp. Enjoy a traditional dinner, live local music, and a magical night under the stars in your private tent.

Next, visit the village of Khamlia, home to a vibrant community of Gnaoua musicians from Sub-Saharan Africa. Here, you’ll enjoy their spiritual music and unique rhythms in an authentic setting.

In the afternoon, explore the nearby M’ifis mines and learn about the region’s mineral history and geological richness. Lunch: Discover the traditional Berber pizza, a delicious and hearty local specialty! Later, return to your hotel in Merzouga to rest or enjoy a walk along the edge of the dunes before settling in for the night. You’ll spend the evening in a comfortable hotel near the desert.

After breakfast, depart from Merzouga and begin your journey back to Fes. The route takes you through the spectacularly beautiful Ziz Valley, known for its lush palm groves and ksours (fortified villages). Leaving the Middle Atlas Mountains, you’ll stop for lunch in Midelt, a lively town originally built as a garrison for the French Foreign Legion. Continuing north, drive through the cedar forests around Azrou, home to wild Barbary macaques. Then make a stop in Ifrane a charming alpine town often called the “Switzerland of Morocco,” offering a unique contrast to the surrounding landscapes. Finally, you’ll arrive in Fes by evening, where your tour comes to an end.
