3 days Desert tour from Marrakech

The 3 days desert tour from Marrakech leaves the red city in the early morning, with a pick-up from your hotel or riad. You will be transported by a comfortable private vehicle, beginning our venture into the stunning High Atlas Mountains, winding through Tizi n’Tichka pass, we’ll take the time to stop for panoramic views, see little Berber villages and maybe even a visit to a traditional argan oil cooperative along the way. By mid-day, we will arrive at the famous Kasbah Aït Benhaddou classified by UNESCO as a world heritage site and one of Morocco’s most iconic landmarks.

This ancient mud-brick fortress has been used as a set-in dozens of films and TV shows; most notably Gladiator (2000), The Mummy (1999), and Game of Thrones. After a guided visit and lunch in or near Ait Benhaddou we continue towards the Dades Valley passing by the lovely oasis town of Skoura and The Rose Valley. As the sun starts to set, we will make our way through the impressive scenery of Dades Gorges, where you will stay overnight in a local guesthouse or hotel. Have a warm dinner and relax in the valley calm.

We will have breakfast and get back on the road toward Todra Gorges, where a river of perfect clearness flows through towering canyon rocks. There will be time to walk along the gorge, take photos and enjoy the calmness of nature in this breathtaking setting. It’s from here the landscape changes as we approach the Sahara. Enjoy the stunning view on our way to Merzouga. Late in the afternoon we will arrive at the erg chebbi dunes where your camel convoy awaits.

Cross the shimmering sand dunes on a sunset camel ride, a magical experience that you will never forget. Upon arrival your Berber desert camp deep in the Dunes. Relax in your private tent with your own ensuite and have a traditional Moroccan dinner next to the soft light of the candles, then gather round the scarlet fire while being entertained by live music. Remember to also gaze at the stars: they are like you have never seen.

Make sure you wake up super early; think about 4am! so you can have the whole sound dunes to enjoy by yourself, catch the sunrise over those magical land mass relives a peaceful almost otherworldly experience. After breakfast at the camp, you will return to Merzouga by camel or alternative 4×4, your driver will be waiting for you. From there be on the return journey to Marrakech; 

We will stop along the way for rest, lunch and photos — including another break in Ouarzazate for a film studio tour or to simply grab a coffee with view of the kasbahs. We will arrive in Marrakech by early evening (around 7–8 PM), dropping you off at your accommodation to end this unique and unforgettable 3 days desert tour from Marrakech.
