Morning – Departure from your Accommodation in Merzouga
The adventure starts in the morning after a typical breakfast. You’ll be picked up by an experienced driver guide from your hotel or camp in the desert, aboard a comfortable 4×4. You’ll set out for your adventure by driving off-road toward the immense formidable dunes of Erg Chebbi where you will be able to see till horizon over the sand with captivating views.
Leg 1 – Nomadic Family (Approx. 20 km round trip | 1.5 hours)
Your first stop is a visit to a heartwarming Berber nomadic family living on the edge of the dunes. These families have preserved their traditional lifestyle for generations. It also has fantastic views across the dunes and out over the surrounding hamadas (rocky desert).

On your way back, you’ll stop at a stunning desert oasis nestled between the dunes. This serene, palm-tree-filled area is great for a relaxing respite and to snap pictures or sit in quiet reflection. Afternoon – Return to Merzouga
Returning to Merzouga by 14:00 from a day of discovery. You will then be returned to your desert camp or hotel where you can choose to relax, watch the sun set, and so on—or get ready for some other activity like a camel ride or sandboarding.
